Things That Were/Are My Jam

First off: Happy Monday!
It’s been a little bit since those regular posting days
(like I ever posted regularly!)
so I have a small goal of one post per day this week…
I’m just putting that out there so I’m more likely to do it.
Things That Were/Are My Jam
My BFF and her sweet little Henry
This sweet new dress I got when we went outlet shopping!
Sent this photo to Amanda to ask her opinion #JustifiedSelfie

Taking my Swiss Army knife to a bonfire
for the sole purpose of using the wine screw part

Takes a little elbow grease though…
thanks to Abby and Alison

It was warm enough in Whistler to lay out for 20 minutes
(after the being in the jacuzzi for an hour).
I know it looks like I’m topless… I’m not. #swear

This INSANE bellini (that came with a gummy worm!)
that I drank with dinner over a 22 hour quick rendezvous
with my man-friend in Vancouver
#businesstravelcanbeoksometimes

Being in the ‘ville this weekend to catch
my Sipiniski buds kill it at at the Derby Volleyball Tournament

A some quality time with the Tang

What’s your jam at the moment?

A Fun Thing To Do On A Wedding Reception Dancefloor

Whew! Back in the states now, but still on the way home. I’m sitting in O’Hare and uploading all my photos from the Lulu Summit and found these gems on my camera from Bonna’s wedding last month. I need to do a full post with the other photos, but here’s a little something to hold you over until then:

Bonna and Nate got married!
And while they were making the rounds saying hello to guests,
we were breaking it down on the dancefloor.
Duh.
I went to take a photo of our crew, but the flash didn’t happen.
So when I was “fixing” it, I apparently turned on the automatic timer…
and set it to take 10 photos once the timer went off.
The photos we took were hilarious, so then, of course, we had to keep doing it.

And the final one:
You’re welcome.
Happy Friday, guys!

Lulu Ambassador Summit 2013!

Whistler, here I come!
As a Lululemon Ambassador for the Louisville store,
I was beyond thrilled to receive an invitation to the
Ambassador Summit in Vancouver, B.C. in Canada.
I’d always heard about the infamous lulu summit
from other ambassadors I know in the fitness industry,
but now I get to GO!
So I’m headed out to Vancouver (literally in the air right now)
to catch a bus with a bunch of other ambassadors (from all over the globe)
up to Whistler!

Extra fun:
They sent us a cute note and really cute keychain!
This keychain also doubles as our way to find our roomies for the weekend!
There are about 100 of us going, so when we get there,
we have find to the ambassador that has the matching keychain and quote.

LOVE it.
Can’t wait to tell you guys all about it when I’m back.
Have a great week! : )

Q&A VLOG: Ask me some ish!

So the topics on this little blog of mine (I’m gonna let it shine!) kinda jump around:
I have a career in fitness. I’m a frequent traveler.
I’m a dancer. I’m a rock climber. I’m a divorcee.
I have a dog, a man-friend, a roomie, and lots of buddies.
You guys hear a little of this and that all the time,
but I want to know if you have any specific questions for me.
You got fitness questions? TRX or travel questions?
Dog/man-friend/roomie/buddy questions?
Divorce questions?
Questions about how I got this dazzling personality of mine? No? … ok.
Anywho… leave a comment below and I’ll post a VLOG next week answering them all!
If you’d like your question to remain anonymous, shoot me an email (fitwithflash@gmail.com)
and I’ll conceal your identity.
Holla!

Mid-Week Climbing Days!

So my friends Adam and Andrea, last seen here,
have just returned home from spending several months traveling
the globe. Since they’re in the process of finding work again,
they have some free time and
they’re my new go-to buds for climbing mid-week!
A & A
(& fake smiles)
We were able to drive out to the Red River Gorge,
which is a little less than two hours away from Louisville.
The weather was perfect,
we all got a little climbing in,
I got to lead (which I’ve been needing to get back to),

and fun was had by all…
especially the Tang:
I’ve also started making a new “Goin’ Climbin'” Playlist
because there are always songs I want to hear on
the drive out to the Red… or anywhere to climb, really.
Any mellow, but fun songs I should add?
It’s a two hour (ish) drive…
also love me some Jason Tyler Burton!
His ish just isn’t on Grooveshark…

When all your friends are on date nights…

Yes, long distance relationships are certainly easier these days,
especially with glorious inventions
like the internet, Skype, Facetime, etc…
And yes, when you’re life is hectic and your job requires a lot of travel,
it’s sometimes easier to not have your priorities tangled around somebody
waiting for you at home…
But then there are the times when you realize damn near all your friends are couples,
and you hear about nothing but your friend’s relationships, and date nights,
and nights where they “really didn’t do anything but watch tv and fall asleep around 10”
and you’re just jealous
And you miss your man-friend.
And when I say “you”… I mean me.
ugh. I hate when I’m whiny.
I’ll be better tomorrow.
Happy Friday, everybody!

Workout Playlist: 90s Edition!

There’s nothin’ like a little Salt N Pepa & Marky Mark
to get in an old school state of mind for your workout this week!
So throw on some oversized clothing, tight roll your pants
and work that ish!
Playlists are an hour long
and include slower cool-down music
to remind you to STRETCH!
Enjoy:

Yup, I’m doing the “Five Things” post too…

Whatever… everybody else is doing it.
Five things you might not know about me:
1. I used to be an “extra”
That’s not me back there, but that’s what I did…   via

When I first moved to San Diego out of college, I was broke! Getting my foot in the door for fitness jobs was slow going so I made a living (mostly) for about a year by being an extra for TV shows that were shot in SD. I’ve been in the background of Veronica Mars and some telanovelas you have no idea existed.

Side note: Best Job EVER (when you’re 22). Nobody really pays any attention to you, you get to hang out, read books and eat from craft services (when nobody’s paying attention). You walk around behind actors a few times, and you make about $300 for the day. The only drawback is you have to hang around a bunch of wannabe actors that think background work will be their big break (instead of actually auditioning)… it’s not. They’re annoying.

2. I name my cars.

My first car was Lola, a ’90 Dodge Dynasty… however the D and the Y fell off the back, so it just said nasty… Next up was Abe, a ’94 Lincoln Continental. It had an old car phone that didn’t work but was fun to play with. And then there was Mona, my Corolla that lasted far past what she should have. And I think you all know Charli, my current ride. : )

3.  I have a food texture issue which makes me a “picky eater”.

It sucks. I hate being this way, but I’ll seriously gag over most seafood (even though the taste is delicious: shrimp/lobster), pineapples, avocados, etc. It’s not that I don’t like the taste, it’s just the feel of it in my mouth makes me want to hurl.

4. I don’t watch TV on a regular basis… But I STILL love Grey’s

I got rid of cable years ago, but I still keep up with Grey’s online (once every two months when I have to catch up): I’ve been watching it since it began, back when I was in college. Even though there were a couple of crap seasons and it really should be ending soon, (like maybe this season) I still LOVE it. And all the characters. And I remember all those pivotal moments; Pick me, choose me, love me. 007. Izzie cutting the LVAT wire, etc.

5.  I’m a little anal about my discount club card at the grocery.

When I use my discount “club card” at the grocery store (Kroger, Vons, Ralph’s, etc) they always ask for your card before they start to ring you up, but I don’t give it to them until after all the groceries have been scanned. You see the total, THEN you see the new total after all your club discounts. It’s awesome! Sometimes you save over $15! It’s very exciting, but sometimes the cashiers get annoyed with me when I don’t give it to them up front…  Ask me if I care…

Anything random I should know about you?
