Dance E’ery Day – days 2 & 3

So I’ve taken class every day this week so far!
Woot!
Experiences have varied…
Stretching is important. Fact.

Day 2
Class was great! I went to SF Dance Center this time and it was meant to be; all the 10:00am Contemporary classes are on sale for $7 right now. Hello. I really enjoyed the instructor, the pace of the class, her choreography, AND I was having a good dance day. All good things.
Day 3
There was a different instructor and choreography was great! Choreography was great, however it was also WAY too long and taught way too fast for my old ass who hasn’t taken regular class in 8 years and can’t remember shit that well anyway brain to keep up with. I was way off balance today and couldn’t pick up things quickly at all. To say the least: it was a shitty class.
Despite how much I wanted to be in class, I ended up getting really frustrated with myself (and a little with the teacher, even though it was my fault for sucking). I hate “off” days. They’re hard to bounce back from… even though it’s only my ego that takes a hit, it’s still defeating enough to ruin a morning. Over my many years of dancing, there were far less bad days than good. These days it’s the opposite. Oh well. I’ll just have to get over it. Having a sucky day in the studio every now and then won’t kill me.
In the grand scheme of things, it’s no big deal.
So I had a shitty morning. Whatever.
I’ve gotten to take class 3 days this week
and still get to take class two more days this week.
I had an awesome lunch date,
got some work done,
AND I get to go climbing tonight.
 Glad Game, bitches.
How do you deal with a poor performance days?

Dance E’ery Day

I’m working from San Fran this week and while I have the flexibility in my schedule and a big city at my fingertips, I’m going to take advantage of all the great dance facilities here.  It’s hard getting out of the habit of dancing… so even though this may only last this week, I’m gonna try to get after it as much as possible. My goal is to take one class a day (providing I can still walk after a couple days of this).

This morning I took class at a place called ODC. It was fabulous, I wasn’t a hot mess, and I met some really cool chicks. The place is newer so the studios are big and really nice! I’m going to check out another place tomorrow, but I definitely enjoyed my time at ODC and may return later in the week.

I asked this on my Fitness Facebook page earlier:
What are you doing to ignite your passion this week?
It’s only Monday, you’ve got time to figure it out : )

It’s a big news week: Post #2 – A Blate To Remember

A Blate to Remember…
(and linking it to my 2nd Fave movie: An Affair to Remember*)

Ahnika and I have been blog buds for a couple years now. (She’s not blogging at the moment. And  even though a bunch of us have peer pressured asked her nicely to come back, she’s just not feelin’ it at the moment.) But from the time I read her blog I knew she and I would be serious friends. We post, we banter through witty comments, we share a few emails and texts here and there. We just click.

There was a weekend a while back that she was visiting Bridget in Boston at the same time I was going to work in Boston. It was fate! So we made plans to meet up. It was going to be so exciting! Not quite as dramatic as the Empire State building on Valentine’s day or anything (we’re both taken, BTW) but drinks in town would be just as great!

But then she had a last minute family thing and couldn’t go… We were bummed. But at least it wasn’t because she was hit by a car and paralyzed or anything. #gladgame
So fast forward to a couple weeks ago… and me having to go to San Fran for work. And her now living outside of San Fran because of her husband’s work. We were brought back together! So we made lunch/drink plans.
And this time, there were no hiccups!
Although it was no Empire State Bldg reunion,
we had a grand time at lunch at Sauce in the Financial District.
And I got Ahn to drink bourbon
 : )

Svea and Ahnika

Not my best.
I learned quickly that Svea puts anybody else in the frame to shame.
And I didn’t even mean to make that rhyme.

See? We were MFEO.

Switched movies there on ya with that last one.
BUT it still pertains to the above.
: )

And we’ve made the move to Facebook friends.
So it’s for real now.

Because we needed another one of these…

Last week for me consisted of a
road trip out west,
followed by a TRX event even further west
in San Fran, at our headquarters.
We always have these intense training weekends
when we’re launching a new course.
Lots of studying, presenting,
and TONS of workouts.
I can barely move today.
BUT we have a fair bit a fun.*
 *Extreme understatement.
This is what happens
when some of the best of the fitness industry
leaders have some down time:
Because we all need to hear this song more…
at least Shana and I did…
; )
Happy Monday, guys!
Make it a good week.
*And be on the lookout for our new program, TRX Group Rip Training, starting in July!

What happens when I go to San Fran for TRX…

I have to go to San Francisco… a lot. We have training weekends where I learn/present/workout for several days in a row. Then I return home smarter than I was before I left. So right now, at this very moment, you’re reading a smarter blog than you read last week. Just so you know. ; )

The days are long (11hrs for 3 of ’em, 9 for the 4th one), the workouts are intense, the amount of info we’re taking is in ridic… but somehow we always have an amazing time. The TRX instructor cadre is so close and we can’t have a bad time. Here are some photos I snapped throughout the week and below that is a video my girl, Shana put together yesterday.
Good times… Fo Sho

You can tell how much smarter I am already, right?

Make It Count, (bitches)

Sorry I’ve been M.I.A this week. I’ve just completed 4 crazy days of training at TRX Headquarters in San Fran. After multiple workouts, several presentations, and too few hours of sleep, I’m BEAT. But getting to hang out with SF friends is making up for it… even if they’re making me watch football. (I hate football)

BUT I just saw this Nike commercial
and it made me want to jump up and down
How are you going to move this week?
However you do it,

Long Distance Relationships…

Anybody that’s gone through a long distance relationship knows how hard it can be… I mean, not getting to see my boyfriend, Bradley Cooper every day just kills me. But my job requires me to travel, so that’s just all there is to it. He understands and does his best to be supportive of my career. He’s so great that way.
He keeps himself occupied while I’m away,
so I don’t feel as bad…
A little b-ball here and there:

You know,
the occasional photo shoot…

Just workin’ on his French…

(Sara, is he legit?)
And… uh…
What was I just saying?

Even though he’s my boyfriend,
I’ll let you check him out.

You’re welcome.

I’m off to San Fran for the rest of the week. Holla!

San Fran Travel

I was in San Fran last weekend (shocker) to teach a TRX course and found out (thanks to Facebook) that my friend, colleague, and old roomie Sara was there too! Her and her BF were road-tripping up from San Diego. I had a free day so we went to Napa and Sonoma. Yessssss.

First stop: Sparkling wine tasting at Domaine Carneros

I kinda felt like Ms. McKay from An Affair to Remember with my Pink Champagne!

We also went to a couple other places, had a fab lunch and then went over to Sonoma to visit one of the first wineries there and have dinner at The Fig and The Girl. Or was it called The Girl and The Fig? Anywho. It rained like crazy in the morning, but cleared up just in time for the drive back to SF. Gorgeous views that my horrible camera skills don’t do justice…

P.S. If you’re looking for the best nutrionist in the world… Sara has her own online consulting business. She’s the bomb.com when it comes to food and can help you no matter where you are in the world… just sayin’.

TRX Crew!

TRX Course Instructor Training: San Fran
Photobucket
When we get together for these training weekends, we do a lot of working out. It’s a 3 day event and each morning starts with a workout. This is me and Hayley doing some kick-ass low rows. Putting your legs up makes it harder. We are bad-asses. It’s true. P.S. If you’re in the Las Vegas area, check out Hayley!

A photo of our whole crew this weekend. We are enjoying the new TRX Headquarters… especially the rooftop workout area.
