It’s My Birthday, Bitches! : )

Some thoughts on my birthday:
  • I’m really glad I was born. I’ve had a kick-ass life so far, with very few regrets, and no what-ifs.
  • I really only plan on becoming more kick-ass as I age. I’m not upset about getting older at all.
  • We’ll see if I still feel that way at 40… ; )
  • Thanks to Jennifer “Hardcore” for my sah-weet Birthday Princess crown and wand yesterday at bootcamp. She’s the BOMB.
  • She even gave me a Ring Pop. A Ring Pop! It was amazing. Even though it didn’t fit on my finger…
  •  Does anybody else accidently write their birth date when trying to write the actual date on your       `birthday? Happens to me every year.
  •  I love Facebook on your birthday. Messages pouring in all day… Feeling the love, for sure.
  •  I really love having Facebook friends in Asia and Australia. The messages pour in starting the night before. Thank you date line.
  • My favorite cake is Pillsbury Funfetti Cake with Betty Crocker Rainbow Chip icing. It’s heaven in your mouth. My roomie is making me one tonight!!!
  • Every year, at least for the last 3 years, we’ve gone to a water park for my birthday. It’s so much fun to run around like a 10 year old with all your friends. We’ll be doing that next weekend.
  • I was supposed to be in Toledo today but my trip got cancelled at the last minute so I’m still in bed. Hey-ell yes.
  • The only problem is that I didn’t plan anything to celebrate today since I thought I’d be gone. But I don’t really feel like planning anything. Thoughts on what I should do?
photo by Susane Pata. I’m pretty sure my fly is down.
  • Thank you, Sarah for awesome flowers this morning!
  • I’ll be heading to Greece one month from now! Yeow!!!
  • Does anybody else feel they should have their ish together by a certain age? I’m at that age now and while I feel like I’ve gotten most of my ish together, I still feel like a few other things should be done by now… like a substantially bigger savings account for one. ; )
  • Every year on my birthday I make my fitness class participants do X number of reps for everything depending on how old I am that year… e.g. 25 years old, 25 lunges per set. It’s fun. ; )
  • Take this into consideration if you ever come to my class on my birthday.
  • Believe me, you’ll know it’s my birthday ahead of time. I usually start counting down a month in advance.
  • I do have a long walk/run planned with this guy though… he loves my birthday. It means he gets treats too.
  • Note the grass stain on his forehead. This is from him diving, headfirst, into bushes/grass/woods at top speed. Cracks me up every time… especially ’cause it’s still there from two days ago. Guess we’ll be getting a bath today for my birthday as well.

What’s your favorite way to celebrate your birthday, but keep it mellow?

Have a great weekend, everybody!

*bonus points to anybody that can guess my age*
*WITHOUT looking in the archives at my bday post from last year*
*go*

Travel Thoughts – San Francisco

  • I love San Francisco. Especially when it’s 45 degrees warmer than the Ville.
  • the BART is SOOOO much better than most subways in big cities. It’s warm, the seats are big, and it’s rarely packed.
  • That could have something to do with the fact that I’m on it at either midnight or 6 a.m. each time… but that’s neither here nor there.
  • TRX. 3 days, 8 or 9 hours each each day, I’m going to be sore.
  • I’ll also be a better presenter/trainer/person come Monday.
  • Come Monday, it’ll be alright, come Monday, I’ll be holding you tight…
  • I frickin’ love these other instructors. We’ve got a good crew here. They’re all SO much better presenters than me.
  • Task: Present to all these other presenters that have WAY more experience than me? Sure, no pressure.
  • I wish I would have paid more attention in my public speaking class in college. Maybe this wouldn’t feel so daunting.
  • Todd Durkin is speaking at our dinner tonight. Yesssss.
  • Don’t know Todd Durkin? Well, he’s trained a lot of people, including the past two Super Bowl MVPs. He’s pretty awesome. And motivating.
  • My list of books to read has just increased by 5.
  • Yep, definitely sore.
  • Team building Flag Football? Sure!
  • I’ve never seen an entire football game in my life. Or been to one. This should be fun.
  • “Ami! BLITZ!!!”
  • “Nick, OK! What does that MEAN?!!!!!!”
  • I’ll just run back and forth and look busy. Thank you, Fitness Anywhere for bringing kegs.
  • Day 3. Exhausted. Time change is kickin’ my ass.
  • Final day presenting challenge: Speak for 10 minutes on your life passion. Go.
  • This is gonna get heavy.
  • Tears, group hugs, we are now closer. And we’ve all got issues.
  • Why the F did I book a 7am flight? The BART doesn’t even run until 6am. Super Shuttle it is… for $17. And a pick up time at 4:55 a.m. Awesome.
  • YAWN. Super Shuttle 20 minutes late. I could have slept 20 more minutes. grrr.
  • Valentine’s Day = Free ‘adult’ beverage on Southwest Airlines. Yes please.
  • Oh I remember why I made my flight so early… I’ll get to spend a few hours with Conrad tonight for once. Yessss. Happy V-Day, peeps.
  • Pilots, do a good job.

Travel Thoughts – SD

  • Two days wasn’t enough in LA but glad we’re headed to San Diego for a couple!
  • Really wish I hadn’t left my underwear and sandal in the rental car seat.
  • My bag fell over with a change of clothes in it, I wasn’t getting wild. Calm it down, people.
  • We scored the most PERFECT weather! 76 and Sunny.
  • Guys wanna surf? That’s OK. I’ll lay here and tan. Yesss.
  • Manhattan pizza in Encinitas, Las Olas margaritas in Cardiff. This girl’s gotta go for a run.
  • Text from the sister in law: “We found your underwear, they’re in dad’s car.” Perfect.
  • Get your heads out of the gutter. Conrad picked me up from the rental place in his dad’s car.
  • Not having a rental car here kinda sucks.
  • Yay Danielle, Brenna, Troy, Sarah, Joe afternoon!
  • Ted and Ann are the ish. I love their place in Del Mar. Love their friendship. Love Ann’s cooking.
  • My new goal in life is to have a shower with the multiple shower heads.
  • Will need to work harder to afford that water bill. 3 hour showers might not work…
  • Lunch with Julie. I miss training her three days a week : (
  • Wedding dress shopping with Sarah!!!! Brings back memories…
  • All the gang together again for Rock Bottom Brewery dinner. Miss this.
  • Ireland trip planning with Brent, Lynn, Colleen, and Andy.
  • We’re cracking up just searching for flights. The other passengers on this flight will HATE us.
  • Dingle.
  • Can’t wait til May for this trip!
  • What?! We have to go home already?! Quick run. In the sunshine and warmth.
  • Good bye, San Diego. We’ll see you in August for the wedding! Tear.
And just like that, I’m off to Newark and New York to teach a TRX course for 26 lovely trainers, assuming the snow doesn’t jack my flight plans tonight… I’ll be back on Sunday night, have a great weekend everybody! And if you’re my friend on Facebook, look for the photo album from this trip! Sorry if you’re not my facebook friend, that’s saved solely for people I’ve actually met and know.

Travel Thoughts – Jersey

*I had no idea Newark was so close to NYC. Next time I’ll come early to mingle/dance/shop.

*Yay for getting to spend 4 hours in NYC!
*Thank you, Lululemon Soho for my new black Dance Studio II pants. Love them.
*NJ has was too many toll booths on the Turnpike.
*They should have signs that tell you how much moo-lah you’re gonna have to fork over.
*Good thing I paid for our dinner with my card and Marcus gave me cash, or else I would not have even had $ for the tolls. Whew!
*Why the heck are there SO MANY forks in the road here? There’s one every mile, I swear.
*I’d heard this myth that in NJ the attendants pump your gas for you.
*It’s not a myth, it’s true! What’s the etiquette here? Do you tip them?
*Trip alert texts are awesome to tell you your flight has been delayed.
*Except for when they lie. It’s a good thing I went to the gate anyway. Flight on time. Whew.
*People in NJ are surprisingly nicer than I would have imagined.
*Love the spin class poster at the gym: “Ride it like you stole it!” Clever and witty.
*The trainers I trained this weekend are awesome. My job rules.
*The Mercury Milan is a really nice rental car: heated seats and a TON of buttons to push. Yes!
*Drawback: too many buttons make it difficult to find the button you need, while driving.
*I think the lady at the Avis counter exploited the fact that she has a foreign accent.
*One car, one day + 3 hours +a ton of coverage I didn’t ask for = $364. Bitch.
*My plane didn’t crash. Success.
*Back home with my boys. Sweet.
*Boston this weekend. Bring it.
