Things and Links That Are My Jam Right Now

Happy Friday!

First, the Things:

There were lots of things that were my jam this week. First up, being comfortable without make-up for the past two months. I’ve never worn that much makeup to begin with because I’m not that great at applying it; I do the same powder/liner/mascara every day. Once I left and was out camping on my own though, there was no need. A bunch of park rangers and old people in RVs don’t care what I look like. It was surprisingly liberating. I was a little self-conscious about it when I’ve been around people I knew, just because they were used to seeing me with it, but nobody has said anything and that made me realize that nobody cares.  Added bonus: I don’t have to worry about washing it off every night, which saves on the bedtime routine. I’m not saying I’ll never wear makeup again, because it certainly helps, and I’ve got some work events coming up, but it’s nice to feel like I’m ok without it.

The other things: I booked my flights to London and Dublin! (It’s never an official trip until you have your resos.) We leave June 30! My man-friend is presenting at a conference and I’m using airline miles to tag along because I’ve never been to either place. He’s a little annoyed that he’ll be working and I’ll be sight-seeing, but that’s how the cookie crumbled. I’m just glad I’m getting a second chance at Ireland. I was supposed to go a few years ago and it fell through so I’m REALLY excited to explore the city and surrounding areas.

My manfriend and I actually got to do a workout together! Since I’ve been here we’ve had to do them separately just because of his work schedule and my lack of motivation to wake up early.

Sitting on the patio of cafes, drinking a beer, and blogging in the sun. It’s been the bomb to be able to drink an adult beverage at any time of day these past couple months. I’m going to have to reel it in come July though, or people will think I’ve got a problem.

And date night. Date night! The boys were at their mom’s earlier in the week so we went out and had a great dinner on the patio outside the other night. I think if I were ever to have choose a “last meal” it would be Mexican food and margaritas.

And now for the Links:

This man’s hysterical animation to go with his wife’s drunk joke. “I don’t think you KNOW me.” Get ready to spend the next 20 minutes re-watching this thing. It gets better each time.

This incredibly moving tribute video of a man and his dog, narrated by the dog. Grab some damn tissue.

What’s yo jam?!

{Said in the same way as the guy on the street from Pretty Woman:  “This is Hollywood. “What’s yo dream?!”}
