Time for Wandering

I know I’ve complained a lot lately about not having a work permit, but trust that I’m taking advantage of the free time. In this time I’ve tried to do as many things as possible that I know I won’t have time to do when I start work again. Random driving around is one of them. I had to go into Banff the other day and instead of getting on the freeway to drive back home, I just kept driving and taking different turns. I followed signs to various destinations and ran into several I’d never seen before. I can’t wait to take visitors to these places in the future.

Currently…

I was in Southern California for the past week for work and had a few days in between projects to see some friends. I stayed with my good friends Ted and Ann and although I was hoping to spend copious amounts of time outside in the warm weather  it was cold and rainy most of the week. I’ll let it slide since California desperately needs some precipitation, but I will say it was nice going on a run yesterday morning in a tank top! These SmartWool Mountaineering Extra Heavy Crew Socks

Y’all. If you’re constantly freezing like me, these will be your jam too. They’re crazy thick and warm AND they have a thick layer of cushioning under them so they feel like slippers.  I orginally bought them to take skiing with me on my Canadian Christmas visit. Now I just wear them as slippers around the house. Every day. It’s time for a 2nd pair.

I’ don’t know about you guys but I tend not to buy plants because I forget they’re there and I kill them. This little guy is still kicking, probably because it doesn’t need that much attention, and I’m proud. Plus, I get post-holiday blues like nobody’s bidness so those cute little bells on the flower pot are still bringing a little holiday cheer even in mid-January.
