Resting My Body Then Organizing My Sh*t for The New Year

Rest & Organizations

I end my year usually by taking the last week of the year off work. I need at least 4 or 5 days to chill and rejuvenate. This typically includes lots of naps, indulging in yummy food and holiday dranks, and much needed time with my family. After not working or working out for several days, I finally feel ready to put myself back in the game… slowly.

In order to set myself up for smarter productivity in the new year, I find that I operate better in spaces that work well. For me, this means no clutter, adequate space for everything that goes there, and an easy, quick way to deal with it all. It needs to be functional. I’m more relaxed and more productive in spaces that are simple and efficient, so with my time off this holiday weekend, here’s where I’m spending my time organizing: my purse & wallet, the kitchen, my closet, and my workspace. 2016 Game Plan: Putting It On Paper. Together.

I love making New Year’s Resos. I don’t feel like I have to overhaul my life or anything, I just like finding little things that I can implement immediately and often that will help me move the progress needle a little further. If I can go to bed each night and ask myself what I did to get a little better this year, I want to be able to answer with something.

My man-friend and I decided to do our 2016 goals together on New Year’s Day morning and so we sat on the couch for a couple hours to knock them out. [Read more…]

Although it wasn’t my most productive blog year, other than January, it was certainly fun to share as much as I could and to read through all your posts. Although I’m not commenting as much as I used to (is anybody? I blame BlogLovin’…) I’m still reading!

2014 had a lot going on… almost too much. It’s been nice to have a few days here in Canada with my man-friend to just relax, play outside, and not go 100 mph. Actually, most of December has been pretty chill, which has been nice. It’s great to have some time to re-charge the batteries. I’m looking forward to 2015 in a big way. Lots of plans on the horizon, lots of rearranging to ensure that 2015 is great, but not as hectic as 2014. I hope you’ll enjoy this last day of the year, reflecting on what has been and how to make this next year your best yet… or at least better in some small way. Thank you for joining me on this blog for another year.
